April 23rd, 2010 — 12:30pm

Star2Billing, the commercial arm of A2Billing, and among the most popular open source Telecom Switch and Billing platforms available today, has announced its fifth year anniversary in 2010. DIDX offers all Star2Billing customers option for special SIP DID offer of 1000 Ohio, USA DIDs and/or Auckland, New Zealand DID phone numbers. Both services are some the most respected and well-known global innovators and enablers in open source and IP communications.

“According to many users of Star2Billing and officials at Super Technologies, Inc. (who created and run the DIDX service), the special will help customers to provide real phone numbers to their end-users instead of just a SIP address – so that they can receive phone calls on a phone number, not just make them. No matter where Star2Billing customers are geographically, they will have a USA presence or presence in any of up to 70 nations and be reachable from even cell phones and landlines off the IP grid,” says Rehan Ahmed, President of Super Technologies, Inc. and DIDXchange.

Especially for Star2Billing customers, the collaboration makes purchase of blocks of numbers from DIDx, a provider of Direct Inward Dialing or “DID” phone numbers to IP communications companies, affordable. In addition, the one interop and terms with DIDX will interconnect Star2Billing customers to 16,500 other IP communications providers and millions of phone numbers.

Through the offer, customers can order up to 1000 phone numbers from the U.S. (specific rate centers) at $150 per month and or 50 Auckland, New Zealand DID numbers at $100 per month, empowering them with benefits of next generational telecommunications and the opportunity to expand their markets and potential revenue. DIDX offers a user-friendly API to import the blocks of DID over to Star2Billing’s customer solutions. DIDX Enables Providers with Alaska DID Phone Numbers

February 23rd, 2010 — 10:19am

Super Technologies, Inc.’s DIDXchange has announced the addition of Alaska DID phone numbers to the DIDX marketplace. Individual and SMB users of 16,000 telephony service provider DIDX members in 170 nations are eligible to use the DIDX API to purchase on demand. Millions of calls per month will be made to Alaska phone numbers to keep expatriates, tourists, traveling businesspeople, and SMB remote offices in touch with their Alaska counterparts. This is important socially as well as financially for Alaska’s economy and quality of life. Asterisk, freeSWITCH and other SIP enabled IP communications are meeting these needs through DIDX.

With oil, gas, and seafood dominating the Alaskan economy, having a local presence in Alaska via an Alaskan phone number has the potential to facilitate business development and research in all three areas. Universities, enterprises and other organizations around the world can leverage this opportunity. Many Alaskans speak Spanish or some Asian languages which intimates the potential for Asian, European, and Latin-American positive business collaborations.

“Already while interviewing the mobile operators, CLECs, and all types of companies who use IP communications as a major benefit in business who have purchased the Alaskan DIDs say that the users are SMB and consumers, evenly. Many are using the DIDs to increase their positive and legal business in regards to the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race that starts in Anchorage and ends in Nome, the Stikine River Garnet Fest in Wrangell, World Ice Art Championships in Fairbanks, the Alaska Hummingbird Festival in Ketchikan, and the Sitka Whale Fest,” stated Suzanne Bowen, vice president of marketing for Super Technologies, Inc. “I listened to another scenario that involved the preservation of Eskimo history and culture via new cross-international collaborations. The Alaska DID are sold almost as fast as they are made available on DIDX, so members are encouraged to click their inbox to state firm purchase number total and top up accordingly.”

Alaska is home to many business successes over the years such as those created by John Luther Adams, Sarah Palin, Ernest Gruening, Jewel, Sydney Laurence, Don Simpson, and Khleo Thomas. Many of the DIDX ecosystem of buyers and sellers met at GSMA Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona, Spain to discuss the addition of Alaska DID and the opportunities it presents. The next set of meetings will take place at conferences that DIDX or its sister service Techistan partners with in February through April such as Expo Comm in Mexico, CTIA Wireless, Convergence India, Softec Pakistan, and Gitex Saudi Arabia.

Over 12,000 Telecoms Use DIDX Phone Number Platform, Algerian DID Newest Addition

February 21st, 2010 — 11:13am

Super Technologies, Inc, the leading wholesale marketplace of local telephone numbers to IP communications services providers, today announced Algeria DID (direct inward dialing over SIP or IAX2) phone numbers are available on its DIDX online platform. This enables anyone to establish a local presence via their voice service provider (if they are an active member of DIDXchange) in Algeria. This service works wether the end-user is in Algeria or outside of Algeria on planet Earth. Sixty-two other countries’ phone numbers are also available on wholesale DIDX.

“DIDX members recommend SMBs, SMEs and consumers who need to have a local presence in Algeria and other countries outside of the geographical area they physically work and reside should ask their voice provider if they are a member of DIDX. If not, the users can invite their wireless or wired telco to take advantage of completing one interop to be interconnected with 12,000 and more other providers for DID buy, sell and trade,” Suzanne Bowen, vice president of Super Technologies, Inc., DIDX, and Techistan. “Algeria is a member of the United Nations, ranks 8th in the world natural gas reserves, and is an emerging economy to be recognized.”

Global investors and businesses involved in the industries of figs, cork, oats, dates, olives, citrus, tobacco and dwarf palm have the opportunitiy to establish a virtual presence in Algeria. These trades are important for this Arab nation, along the Mediterranean Sea.

It is the country of the world famous author Albert Camus, who is quoted, “The society based on production is only productive, not creative.” The act of owning a phone number from a geographical area that the owner is not physically residing offers the opportunity to be productive and creative in business, friendship and family relations.

“A company such as Vonage (with enabling, affordable solutions), who now offer unlimited calling to 60 countries could effectively leverage offering phone numbers from 60 countries for a more complete and empowering package,” adds Muneeb Iqbal, a DIDX Information Director. “Several DIDX members’ solutions have been sold to smart companies and investors in the past year. Algeria phone numbers are not available on any other platform like DIDX. We aim to empower our wholesale clients.”

The complete list of available countries and territories whos e DID/DDI (direct inward dialing phone numbers) are listed at http://www.didx.net/did.

February 2nd, 2010 — 5:05pm

Super Technologies, Inc.’s DIDX wholesale DID exchange and Techistan magazine announce that Vietnam DID are now available on the DIDX wholesale platform. In addition, the two popular online services will be media partner and press agent for the 13th International Exhibition in Vietnam on Telecommunications and Information Technology to take place at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center Nov. 17-20, 2010.

Vietnam appears to be in a positive regeneration phase with many exciting changes and innovations as of recent. Vietnam operators have recently invested 754 million in the Trans-Asia Marine Cable System. The International VTI company inaugurated Vietnam’s link with a 20,000 kilometer submerged optical cable network that will connect Vietnam and seven other countries in the Asia Pacific with the USA.

Suzanne Bowen, vice president of marketing for Super Technologies, Inc. and its Techistan and DIDX services, states, “Vietnam’s 10-year plan in ICT for 2010 – 2020 shows a huge demand for fiber-optic communications. Mobile services are thinking forward. We have seen an increase in the number of South and East Asian countries’ service providers all of all types join our DIDX wholesale SIP DID marketplace, so it was natural to add Vietnam DID (by mid-February 2010) to the pool of available DID from 60+ countries.”

The mobile service provider VinaPhone has partnered with Viet Nam HP Co and Cable and Network Materials Joint Stock Co to launch a new mobile 3G service where 3G will be integrated into HP notebook computers. They have also signed new contracts with Motorola’s Home & Networks Mobility to expand their GSM network.

The professor Dr. Sc. Do Trung, envoy to the Prime Minister on ICT, Chairman of The National Council for Science and Technology Policy notes in mid-2009 that a 100% fiber-optic network plan is in place for Vietnam. It will deploy 3G licenses to 4 enterprises, Fiber to the Home (FTTH), and Next-Generation Network (NGN). Almost all schools at that time had gained Internet access. ICT measures had and would continue to expand to the rural, mountainous and offshore areas. In fact, 40% of the country’s broadcasting facilities had been digitalized with plans for 200% by end of 2010.

“DIDX and Techistan invite the industry to participate with over 18,000 others in the 13th International Exhibition in Vietnam on Telecommunications and Information Technology Nov. 17-20, 2010. The conference attracts a minimum of 150 exhibitors each year. The SIP School Announces Collaboration with DIDX

January 21st, 2010 — 8:50am

The SIP School and DIDX announced their collaboration in empowering IP communications entrepreneurs, wired and wireless carriers, and developer students with SIP education. SIP, DID, and open source telephony in general are hugely responsible for millions of SMB startups and jobs.

Wikipedia’s current entry on SIP defines session initiation protocol. “The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is a signaling protocol, widely used for controlling multimedia communication sessions such as voice and video calls over Internet Protocol (IP). Other feasible application examples include video conferencing, streaming multimedia distribution, instant messaging, presence information and online games. The protocol can be used for creating, modifying and terminating two-party (unicast) or multiparty (multicast) sessions consisting of one or several media streams. The modification can involve changing addresses or ports, inviting more participants, adding or deleting media streams, etc.”

The SIP School’s SSCATM certification is endorsed by Mitel, Panasonic, Ingate, AudioCodes, Brekeke, DIDX, TIA, Bicsi, Digium, Telematrix and others.

“A new DIDX member pointed us to The SIP School and how beneficial it was for her own technical support team. Students study the SIP coursework and get certified. Even better, is the opportunity to stay updated on new SIP topics,” stated Muneeb Iqbal, a DIDX director. “We immediately visited the school online and found in-depth information on SIP messaging, SIP servers, security, firewalls, NAT, troubleshooting, trunking, ENUM, unified communications, and more.”

The SIP School training system is flash-based with animation and includes learning games, labs, and quizzes. The content evolves with the development of SIP. In fact, students registered for the most popular program now, will in Q1 2010 see new modules of SIP in IMS and SIP with Mobility at no extra charge.

“I immediately requested via Twitter to MrSIP for a podcast interview and was able to add the valuable audio content on the DIDX channel. After the glowing reviews from DIDX members of the quality of the instruction,” added Suzanne Bowen, vice president of Super Technologies, Inc. and DIDX. “I wanted to share as quickly as possible the news. We will even be able to offer a small discount to active DIDX members.”

Graham Francis aka MrSIP and CEO of The SIP School said: “DIDX are such a dynamic and active member of the Telecoms community that we just had to get connected with them. And now we delighted that they are promoting our SIP training and certification service to all of their members. These are tough economic times, so we see the demand for e-learning rocketing over the next few years as companies look to slash travel and subsistence costs. Our training program is in the perfect position to help these companies learn all about the most important protocol to hit telecoms for years and get qualified to prove to everyone that they know their SIP.”

About The SIP School:
The SIP School is the web’s premier training and certification site for SIP and also, Lan/Wan technologies for VoIP. For all course information, demos, free training and pricing details, visit The SIP School at http://www.thesipschool/t/www.thesipschool/didx.
